This week we took another small step forward in our goal to improve the energy efficiency of our new 44-46 Main Street property. We replaced all of the incandescent and compact fluorescent bulbs in the exterior stairwells and upstairs apartment with highly efficient 5 watt LED bulbs. This reduced our maximum energy consumption for lighting from 530 watts/hour to 145 watts/hour, which is a 72% improvement!

Later this summer we will be rewiring the overhead fluorescent ballasts in the common areas and commercial suites to accept LED bulbs, and augmenting the HVAC infrastructure with highly efficient Fujitsu heat pumps.
